A personal welcome
Welcome to The Westwood Cottage!
You're staying in a remodeled three-bedroom cottage on one of Westwood's quiet, tree-lined streets: a small, leafy Johnson County city tucked right against the Missouri state line.
Switch on the electric fireplace in the living room, cook a real meal with groceries from the Hen House three blocks away, and finish the day on the back deck with the grill going. Coffee, one of Kansas City's best-loved bookstores and the Country Club Plaza are all minutes away.
I'm David Swanson, your host. I live nearby and I'm happy to help with anything, from restaurant picks to a forgotten phone charger.
“Settle in like you live here.”

The house
An electric fireplace living room
The heart of the cottage: a spacious living area built around the electric fireplace, with a TV and plenty of seating for movie nights or a slow morning with coffee.
A kitchen ready for real cooking
Fully equipped with cookware, dishes, and the basics, so you can shop at the Hen House three blocks away and cook in instead of eating out every night.
Three restful bedrooms
Three bedrooms sleep up to six. The primary bedroom, with its own ensuite bathroom, is on the main floor. The two queen bedrooms are upstairs and share a bathroom.
Two and a half updated baths
Freshly remodeled bathrooms mean no waiting in line, even with a full house.
Deck, grill & backyard
Step out to a private deck with outdoor dining and a BBQ grill, overlooking the backyard. It's the best seat in the house on a summer evening.
Set up for longer stays
Washer and dryer, air conditioning, fast Wi-Fi, and free driveway parking make it easy to settle in for a week or a month.
